Stegra is a route planner and turn-by-turn navigation app aimed at motorcyclists. Plan your own adventures on any platform and ride on any device—on unpaved, curvy, and beyond.

All motorcyclists—road, touring, adventure/off-road, gravel, and mixed. Also suitable for 4×4 Overlanding, and if you are fortunate to have a Porsche 911 for those curvy mountain passes, you’ll love it too.

• Adventure: Prefers unpaved and gravel; optionally include tracks.
• Curvy: Favors curvature and scenic, out-of-village roads.
• Fast: Standard quick routing; enable Avoid Highways to stay on country roads.
• Bird (web): Freely plot your route without algorithmic interference.

We didn’t start with menus or buttons. We started with a question: how hard can it be to find continuous stretches of adventurous roads? That’s why Stegra is built on what has become the Stegra.io Route Engine—our routing brain tuned for motorcycling of every kind.

In Adventure, it prefers unpaved and gravel roads, with an option to Maximize Unpaved for more aggressive prioritization. You can also opt into tracks when you want tougher dual-sport trails. In Curvy, it hunts for curvature and scenic, out-of-village roads that keep your rhythm. In Fast, it gets you there efficiently—and with Avoid Highways it turns the day into country roads. On the web, Bird mode lets you draw exactly what you have in mind—no algorithm required.

Once the engine could find great rides, we focused on how it feels to ride them. Navigation is super-smooth and distraction-free. Snap-on route gives you turn-by-turn the moment you touch your line; if you roll onto another loaded route, Stegra switches seamlessly. 3D terrain (web) adds instant context. Our own rendered maps highlight unpaved roads and graded tracks, and a rich POI library—from restaurants and bars to gates and mountain passes—adds just enough detail. The basics are rock-solid: GPX in/out, offline maps, and full cross-platform sync. Everything is designed around one thing—the ride experience.

Yes. Download map areas and add your routes to the map to ride them offline.

Yes. Import routes, and POIs; to edit or just to add to your library and ride. Stegra will calculate the unpaved % of all your imported routes and you can choose to import all routes/POIs or just some, from the GPX-file. Export single routes or full collections of routes and POIs as one GPX file.

In Stegra, everything is treated as a track* — both during import and export. The app preserves your imported data exactly as it is, providing accurate visualization without any alterations. Stegra also offers full turn-by-turn navigation on tracks*(*GPX terminology).

Yes. Record your ride by pressing Start Ride – then replay it, or convert it into a route on the web.

Yes. Join a friend’s route and be added as a contributor to plan together. Share a route via link, or make it public for the Discover-page.

OpenStreetMap base maps with our own Stegra-rendered detailed maps (e.g., highlighted unpaved roads, graded tracks) as well as a large amount of public POIs from OSM with everything from Bars, Gas stations to Gates, Motorcycle Parking Spots and Mountainpasses.

Yes, we do – and that’s exactly why we built this. Three Teneres, one CRF300, one Triumph Daytona 675, and always adding more. This isn’t a desk project; it’s born from muddy trails, sunny twisties and long days on the road. We ride because we love it – and we built this for that same reason.

Out of necessity, really. We couldn’t find the tool we wanted – so we made it – pretty lucky to have the passion for riding, and software engineering skills. Every part of Stegra, from the algorithms and map rendering to the smallest details you see, is something we craft ourselves. The base maps come from OpenStreetMap, but everything else is built by us, shaped by your feedback, and driven by our shared love of the ride.
